General Usage of OdorXit Concentrate Organic Odor Neutralizer
OdorXit Concentrate is a nearly colorless, transparent, naturally scented
liquid that reacts with and neutralizes the source of very many organic odors
where they are found. It is not an air freshener or odor
It is made of organic water soluble plant salts and oil extracts.
OdorXit Concentrate contains no genetically modified bacteria,
enzymes, volatile solvents or scent masking chemicals. In fact, adding perfumes or
masking scents would interfere with and reduce the effectiveness of the product.
OdorXit's natural scent is short lived and can
be easily neutralized after use (if it persisted longer than desired) by misting
a small amount of ammonia diluted with water in the are of the OdorXit
OdorXit Concentrate is safe to use around all pets and children.
OdorXit Concentrate is safe and green!.
OdorXit Concentrate will completely neutralize the odors
- dead animals
- rotting meat
- rotting fish
- rotting vegetables
- spilled and stale beer
- gasoline and fuel oil
- and a wide variety of other organic and many inorganic odors
OdorXit Concentrate can be applied to any water tolerant surface or material
including but not limited to:
- pet fur
- and much more.
Because OdorXit Concentrate is "concentrated" to reduce
shipping, storage and product cost. Being concentrated also gives the
user much more latitude in how the product is used. In all cases, it
must be diluted with water before use. The following dilution rates
are not rocket science and are only recommendations, but use of the
product at solutions with less that 15 parts of water per 1 part of
OdorXit Concentrate do not work better.
- When sprayed on horizontal surfaces the normal dilution rate is 1
part OdorXit Concentrate to 30 parts water.
- When sprayed on vertical surfaces the normal dilution rate is 1 part
OdorXit Concentrate to 15 parts water.
- When sprayed on dirt, gravel or grass, 1 part OdorXit Concentrate,
60 to 100 parts water is very effective.
- When used in a washing machine, 1/2 to 1 ounce per washer load is
- When sprayed on concrete, tile, grout and other masonry adding surfactant or surfactant containing cleaners improves the penetration of the product into the contaminated material significantly.
- Fogging an area with OdorXit Concentrate in generally NOT effective.
Water is part of the reactions that occur between OdorXit Concentrate and
the source of most malodors. As a side effect of fogging, the water evaporates
far too soon to be part of the reaction.
OdorXit Concentrate is a contact chemistry product and I could go on
for pages explaining the ramification of that statement but I won't.
Suffice to say that it means that OdorXit Concentrate (solution) must
come in direct contact with the source of the malodor in order for it
to neutralize the source of that odor.
On the surface this may seems like a redundant statement, but it is not!
Liquid odor sources like urine, blood, meat and fish juices, fuel oil,
gasoline and most others will soak into the materials they are contaminating.
Often the contaminant has been soaking into the material for hours or
months and longer. Simply spraying OdorXit Concentrate on the surface
of the contaminated material is not going to get to contaminant that
has penetrated deeply into the contaminated material.
Some applications of OdorXit Concentrate require that the material
being treated should be as dry as possible, while others work better
if the material is wet to start. Each application described in these
Practices and Procedures documents will indicate which is most effective.
