What is OdorXit® CLO2

OdorXit® CLO2 product

OdorXit® CLO2 is a dry powder product that when exposed to water vapor produces small and controlled quantities of a gas called chlorine dioxide (ClO2). Chlorine dioxide is a fairly strong oxidizing gas like ozone except that chlorine dioxide has a much longer half life and is much more selective as to what it will oxidize.

What does this mean to you? It means that you need no electrical power to use OdorXit® CLO2 except for a small fan in some cases. OdorXit® CLO2 will not bleach fabric or paint, cause plastics to become brittle and auto door gaskets to become sticky and gooey.

OdorXit® CLO2 gas will kill mold fungi, mold spores, bacteria and viruses without making them more resistant. It also eliminated odors caused by mold, fire, cooking and tobacco smoke on clothing, walls, floors, books, papers, cars and trucks, and any other closed spaces.

To make sure that OdorXit® CLO2 slow release is used safely, it is available in 3 sizes including 5 grams for areas up to 500 sqft, 10 grams for areas up to 1000 sqft and 25 grams for areas up to 2500 sqft.  Using a ceiling fan or box fan to stir the air/CLO2 through the area being treated will improve the performance very significantly. This is especially true when using the larger sizes and where there are lost of obstacles in the area being treated.

If you are treating a mold fungus infected area it is important for you to know that dead mold can be very toxic and should be treated with caution.  Removing dead mold and spores should be done with a mixture of dish washing detergent, ammonia and water while you are wearing a real respirator mask not a dust mask and rubber gloves.
