We have been running a survey for several months now asking what kind of odor people have when they come to this blog looking for solutions.  It was no surprise to find the 53% were having a problem with Pet Odors. The next highest was 14% had rodent odors.

The place where odors were most prevalent was carpet and flooring at 31% and 30%. Cars came in at 16% and clothing came in at a surprising 12%.

What this tells me is that people are willing to put up with misbehaving pets more than their children  (probably). The other thing I can tell from this is that OdorXit Products are perfect for the task most respondents are havingGive them a try. You will not be disappointed.

Why Do OdorXit® Products Smell The Way They Do?

My neighbor, who is still house-breaking her beautiful and ultra friendly 2 year old Puggle (half Pug, half Beagle) will not use OdorXit Concentrate to eliminate the urine odor in her family room carpet because she does not like the way it smells. I don’t know what she would prefer it to smell like nor does she, but not what it smells like now.  It doesn’t matter that the OdorXit smell only lasts 1 or 2 days after use…it has to smell like something else.

The reason the OdorXit® Magic and Concentrate smell the way they do (and that is not bad) is that; their odor is what the stuff that makes them work smells like.

We have added no special (cover) fragrances to these products for several reasons.

  1. If we were to add a fragrance to OdorXit products, there is a 100% chance that a majority of users would want some other fragrance. So…If you want your house or office to smell like roses, or lilac, or some other smell you like, use a fragrance dispenser to disperse the perfume after you have used an OdorXit Product to eliminate the offensive odors.
  2. OdorXit liquid products either absorb (Magic) or neutralize (Concentrate) odors and odor producing products.  That includes urine (mercaptin), feces, rotting material, ammonia, most perfumes and many other odors. So if we were to put a perfume in an OdorXit product it would limit the ability of the product to do its job because perfumes are odors too.
  3. Since OdorXit liquid products actually do work to eliminate odors, putting a perfume or fragrance in the product would possibly make the product less effective. It would also limit the ability of the users to determine if their effort to treat a contaminated area had been completely successful.

It is not our intention to make the world smell like something else.  It is our intention to eliminate bad odors.  Some times not so mad odors get caught up in the effort.  As an example, it you sprayed OdorXit Magic into the air and then took a big whiff of the mist floating where you sprayed it, the chances are the mist that lands on your olfactory nerve in your nose will intercept the smell of the t-bone you have planned for dinner.   Or spraying magic on your wife’s wrist after she has sprayed your favorite perfume there will absorb all the alluring fragrance.

The bottom line is that broad spectrum odor eliminators like OdorXit Products eliminate lots of odors. Use them prudently.
